Justin & Missy’s story is definitely one of a kind. It was a tough, long distance relationship, but they worked together and it couldn’t be better! They met through Justin’s sister and totally hit it off! Justin being in the Navy and being stationed in Florida and later in their relationship being deployed for 9 months, was definitely a tough way to begin a relationship. But after getting to know each other over those several months it was perfect for them to learn more about each other. A few visits back and fourth they made it work!
In May of 2015, Justin decided to propose. That morning, Justin told Missy he was going to set jug lines (Yes! This couple is just that great!) in the tank across the street from his house. Later that afternoon, he took her back with him to check the lines for fish. After trekking through the cow pasture and getting their boots covered in cow poop, a proposal was the last thing Missy was expecting.
They got in a little boat and paddled to the first line. He had her pull the line up. On the end of the line was a card with a picture on the front that Justin had drawn when he was younger and a note he had written to Missy on the inside. Justin paddled her to the next line, she pulled it up, and this time it had a note and a James Avery engagement ring charm for the charm bracelet that Justin got her. Then he paddled Missy to the third line, where she read the final letter he had written her. When she turned around Justin was on his knee with the ring and asked her to marry him…and of course she said yes (with a proposal like that, how could you not!?).
Their engagement session at Marion Sansom Park was so perfect for them! We planned to start at the top over looking the lake with their sweet pup, Finley. After that we headed down to the lake for a little fishing to end their engagement session. It was the perfect styled fishing engagement session that fit them perfectly!
