Jacob and Madison’s wedding brought together so many classic Dallas locations. Their ceremony took place at the beautiful Cathedral Guadalupe, followed by a reception at Hall on Dragon. In between, we photographed their wedding party and portraits around the Dallas Arts District. As a Cathedral Guadalupe wedding photographer, I love how much variety this part of downtown gives us within such a small area.

The entire day had a timeless black and white look. From the invitation suite and wedding party attire to the reception design, everything felt classic and elegant.
Getting Ready for Their Dallas Wedding
Madison spent the morning getting ready at an Airbnb with her bridesmaids and family. The girls wore matching black satin pajamas before changing into black one-shoulder bridesmaid dresses with the sweetest bow detail.
Her mom helped her get dressed and put on the finishing touches. We also photographed Madison’s bridal details throughout the morning, including her rings, invitation suite, shoes and jewelry. Before leaving, she shared a first look with her bridesmaids.
From there, we headed into the Dallas Arts District for wedding party portraits. The clean architecture outside the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center was the perfect backdrop for their black and white wedding party.
Jacob got ready with his brother and best man before meeting us for portraits. We photographed the groomsmen together and took a few portraits of Jacob on his own before heading to the Cathedral.
Cathedral Guadalupe Wedding Ceremony
Jacob and Madison were married inside Cathedral Guadalupe in downtown Dallas. The Cathedral is beautiful on its own, so their ceremony needed very little added to it.
Jacob walked down the aisle with his parents before Madison entered with her dad. During the ceremony, they exchanged rings, prayed together and presented flowers to Mary. After their first kiss, they made their way back down the aisle as husband and wife, stopping for another kiss along the way.
After the ceremony, we photographed the full wedding party outside the Cathedral. The architecture makes this one of my favorite places for classic Dallas wedding portraits.
Dallas Arts District Wedding Portraits
We split Jacob and Madison’s newlywed portraits between Cathedral Guadalupe and the area surrounding the Meyerson Symphony Center.
I love when a wedding timeline gives us the chance to use more than one portrait location. The Cathedral gave us the historic architecture, while the Arts District created a clean and modern backdrop. Together, the two locations gave their gallery plenty of variety without having to travel far.
Once portraits were finished, Jacob and Madison climbed aboard their trolley while their wedding party cheered them on. Then everyone headed to Hall on Dragon to celebrate.
Hall on Dragon Wedding Reception
Hall on Dragon continued the black and white look of the day. Black linens, white chairs, white florals and candlelight filled the reception space.
After cocktail hour, Jacob and Madison made their entrance and went into their first dance. Parent dances followed before the rest of the evening began.
One of my favorite details was the cigar bar on the patio. Guests could enjoy custom cigars, complete with personalized matches. Later, Jacob and Madison cut their wedding cake and celebrated with a champagne tower.
The dance floor included a dollar dance and plenty of open dancing before everyone joined in for a second line, a Louisiana wedding tradition. At the end of the night, Jacob and Madison shared a private last dance before heading outside for their exit.
Jacob and Madison’s wedding was such a beautiful mix of classic traditions, personal details and some of the most recognizable locations in downtown Dallas.
