Forbes Family Fall Session at the Kimbell Art Museum
As a Fort Worth family photographer, I always love fall sessions at the Kimbell Art Museum. The warm light, soft colors, and peaceful setting create such a relaxed and beautiful atmosphere for family photos.
I had the best time photographing the Forbes family. Because Mom is a photographer herself, she knew exactly how to bring everything together. She was great with direction and styled everyone perfectly. She chose a focus color, then added soft patterns and neutral tones, which made their outfits look polished but still natural. The combination worked beautifully against the museum’s light stone and greenery.
The Family
The Forbes family has two sweet little girls, and each one brought her own personality to the session. The oldest was such a good listener and did amazing with every prompt. Meanwhile, the youngest wasn’t too sure about photos at first, although she quickly warmed up once we added fun games and silly prompts. Because of that, we captured some of the most genuine smiles and laughter.
It’s easy to see how close this family is. They laugh easily together, and their connection shines through in every photo. Even small in-between moments — a giggle, a hug, or a quick glance — showed just how much love they share.
Why the Kimbell Is Perfect for Family Photos
The Kimbell Art Museum is one of my favorite Fort Worth locations for families, and for good reason. Its mix of modern architecture and natural greenery gives every session a timeless look. In addition, there’s plenty of open space for kids to move and play without feeling restricted. Because of that, families can relax and enjoy themselves, which always leads to better photos.
As the sun begins to set, the light becomes soft and golden. This glow wraps around the museum walls and trees, creating that dreamy fall atmosphere every photographer hopes for.

A Few Final Thoughts
Sessions like this remind me why I love photographing families. The Forbes family made the entire evening feel effortless and full of joy. Even though the kids were young, their laughter, love, and connection made every image feel real and full of warmth.
