Andrew and Katie’s wedding day was full of emotion, intentionality, and so much joy. From a downtown Fort Worth first look to their ceremony in the Japanese Garden at the Fort Worth Botanic Garden, every part of the day felt meaningful and deeply personal.
As a Fort Worth Botanic Garden wedding photographer, this day was such a reminder that even when plans change, beautiful moments still unfold exactly the way they are meant to.

Wedding Details and Getting Ready in Downtown Fort Worth
The day began with invitation details and thoughtful wedding elements that reflected their vision so well. Their wedding colors centered around sage green with accents of dusty blue, blush pink, and peach throughout the florals.
Katie spent the morning getting ready at Le Méridien Fort Worth Downtown with her bridesmaids. The girls wore matching lime green and white striped pajamas, while Katie wore an all white set that made her stand out so beautifully.

There were so many sweet and quiet moments throughout the morning. Katie looked at her dress before putting it on, her mom helped her into it, and she finished getting ready with earrings, perfume, and shoes.

Even with rain expected all day and constant weather updates coming in, the atmosphere stayed calm. Andrew and Katie handled every change with such steadiness and grace.

A Wedding Day Filled with PerspectiveLess than two weeks before the wedding day, Katie shared that her dad had undergone emergency triple bypass surgery after his third heart attack. In the middle of navigating rain plans and uncertainty, their family was also walking through something incredibly emotional. Through it all, they remained hopeful and grounded.Watching her dad walk her down the aisle on the wedding day made every moment feel even more meaningful. Seeing them share their father daughter dance later that evening was something no one in the room took for granted.

A Downtown Fort Worth First Look
Before heading to the ceremony, Katie walked through downtown Fort Worth with her bridesmaids helping carry her dress on the way to meet Andrew for their first look a few blocks from the hotel.
When Andrew turned around and saw her, he immediately became emotional and started crying. Family and wedding party members watched from nearby, and after the first look everyone cheered while he spun her around in celebration.
It was such a joyful and genuine moment.

Fort Worth Botanic Garden Wedding Photographer | Japanese Garden Ceremony
Rain had been expected all day long, and their original ceremony location in the Rose Garden had to be moved to the Japanese Garden Pavilion at Fort Worth Botanic Garden.
The change ended up being incredibly beautiful.
The Japanese Garden Pavilion overlooks the koi pond and is surrounded by Japanese maples, bamboo, and magnolias. The peaceful setting created such an intimate atmosphere for their ceremony.

The bridesmaids wore satin moss green dresses in different styles, while Andrew and the groomsmen wore dark navy blue. The colors paired beautifully with the garden surroundings.

Bride and Groom Portraits in the Rose Garden
Even though the ceremony moved locations, we still made sure to bring Andrew and Katie to the Rose Garden afterward so they could have portraits that reflected their original vision for the wedding day.
The Rose Garden is one of the most romantic areas at the Fort Worth Botanic Garden. Stone steps lined with flowers lead through the gardens alongside cascading water features, while seasonal blooms surround the pathways.
It ended up being the perfect place for portraits together.

Before the ceremony, Katie shared a first look with her dad, which was such an emotional moment knowing everything their family had walked through in the weeks leading up to the wedding.

The ceremony music was performed by Zuriel Merek on solo electric violin, which added such a unique and elegant atmosphere.

As Katie walked down the aisle with her dad, there was so much emotion throughout the ceremony. There were moments of laughter, tears, family members watching emotionally from the crowd, and so much joy woven throughout the entire service.

Cocktail Hour and Reception at Joe T Garcia’s
The reception took place at Joe T. Garcia’s in the La Puertita space, and the atmosphere felt warm and celebratory from the moment guests arrived.
Cocktail hour and reception details included a welcome sign, guest book table, custom matches for guests, florals throughout the tables, and chips and salsa waiting for everyone as they sat down.
The reception space felt lively and welcoming while still reflecting the elegance of the day.

A Joyful Celebration
Andrew and Katie entered the reception and moved straight into their first dance followed by parent dances, which carried even more meaning after the events leading up to the wedding day.
After welcoming guests with a thank you toast, they cut their cake and officially opened the dance floor.
Even though the rain finally arrived during the reception, it did not slow anyone down. Guests danced all night with the live band, and the entire evening felt full of joy and celebration.

A Wedding Full of Grace and Joy
What stood out most throughout Andrew and Katie’s wedding day was the perspective they carried through every moment.
Even with weather changes and difficult circumstances leading up to the wedding, they stayed calm, joyful, and focused on what mattered most.
It was such an honor to document their day.
