Nestled on 100 acres of picturesque Texas countryside, The Orchard Event Venue is one of my favorite North Texas wedding venues. As a The Orchard wedding photographer and preferred vendor, I always enjoy finding new ways to use the property for each couple. Bradley and Clarissa’s spring wedding was no exception, with beautiful portraits, meaningful moments, and just enough sunshine between the rain showers.
A Spring Wedding at The Orchard
The week leading up to the wedding brought plenty of uncertainty. A tornado had touched down just a few miles from the venue only a week and a half earlier. Another nearby venue was even hit by the storm.
Rain stayed in the forecast all week. To be safe, Bradley and Clarissa moved their ceremony to the covered patio.
In the end, the weather worked out beautifully. It only sprinkled a few times. We were still able to use the property for portraits without anyone getting too wet.
The morning began with Clarissa getting ready alongside her mom. Later, her mom helped her into her dress while her best friend finished the final touches with her shoes and veil.
Meanwhile, Bradley spent the morning with his groomsmen. We then captured his portraits on the front porch of the groom’s cabin.
Portraits Around The Orchard
One of my favorite parts of this wedding was using a brand new portrait location on the property. I love choosing different backdrops for every couple, and The Orchard has so many beautiful spots surrounded by mature pecan and oak trees.
During the bridal party portraits, a light sprinkle rolled in, giving us the perfect excuse to pull out clear umbrellas. Those quickly became some of my favorite images from the day.
A Meaningful Ceremony and Joyful Celebration
The covered patio created a beautiful setting for their ceremony. One of the sweetest moments came when Clarissa’s dad hugged her before walking her down the aisle.
After giving her away, he turned and hugged Bradley. It was such a heartfelt moment.
After exchanging rings and sharing their first kiss, the newlyweds walked back down the aisle. Halfway through, Bradley dipped Clarissa for one more kiss before they celebrated with family and friends.
The celebration continued with dinner, parent dances, cake cutting, and lots of dancing.Guests also spent time outside enjoying the peaceful countryside. The towering oak trees, open fields, and grazing cows made The Orchard feel uniquely Texan.
Bradley and Clarissa’s wedding was a wonderful reminder that even when the forecast looks uncertain, a wedding day can still be filled with joy, beautiful light, and unforgettable moments.
