As a Dallas Arboretum wedding photographer, it is easy to see why so many couples dream of celebrating here. Between the colorful gardens, peaceful walking paths, and beautiful views of White Rock Lake, every corner of the property feels romantic. Dawson planned the sweetest surprise proposal here for Bailey, and it was the perfect reminder of why I would love to photograph more weddings at the Dallas Arboretum.
Why I Love Photographing at the Dallas Arboretum
The Dallas Arboretum is one of my favorite wedding venues. It has beautiful gardens, tree-lined paths, and views of White Rock Lake. Every season offers something different. That means every gallery feels unique. Every visit feels different. The flowers change with the seasons. That gives every couple a unique gallery.
A Garden Proposal with a Dallas Arboretum Wedding Photographer
Dawson and Bailey had been working their way through the alphabet with creative date nights. The next letter was “G,” so Dawson planned a garden date at the Dallas Arboretum, a place Bailey had wanted to visit for a long time.
He also has a tradition of making Bailey a bouquet using flowers from Trader Joe’s. This time he dropped off the flowers with me the day before, and I arranged them into a bouquet tied with a soft blue ribbon before sending him a photo for approval.
Before the proposal, we looked through several location options around the gardens. Dawson wanted somewhere beautiful but also private. Together we chose a quiet patio tucked beneath a large tree overlooking White Rock Lake. It was the perfect setting.
When they arrived, they explored the gardens before making their way to the overlook. Dawson shared a few heartfelt words before getting down on one knee. Bailey immediately said yes. They laughed, hugged, admired the ring, and soaked in every moment together.
Portraits Around the Dallas Arboretum
After the proposal, we wandered through the gardens for portraits. Bailey especially loves hydrangeas and even grows them at home, so we made sure to stop where they were blooming. Even though it was incredibly hot, every minute was worth it.
